A whole lot of crap

Has happened in the last 2 weeks. Road a ton (Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun) 2 weeks ago...Then nothin.
Had a great ride with the PCR Peeps on Sat.
Damn near got fired on Monday...Damn Corp Jack Holes.
Road twice in almost two weeks...Buch of crap I tell ya.

OK On to the good stuff

Sea Otter is On. D-Train is driving out to Moab that week so he will take the bikes and pick my ass up at da San Fran airoport. Camping was costly but this should be fun.

Still only have 5 sec of film for the TRC Death or Glory DVD. I guess I better charge the battery

Oh and one last thing....For all you tour winner guessers forget it. Cause now I got this...

All I need is to slap a nicotine patch on my sack, a pint of Jamison, a shot of Guinness, an inflatable alpaca and I got this Tour crap all wrapped up.

Peace...is for the dead

Today

OK so this is the view outside my office window

And this is the flag pole I needed to walk by because I locked myself out of the building taking the picture of my bike.

It is 45 outside and that is good...I am still at work and that is bad.

Hopefully this will be a weekend of riding.

Ok and just in case anyone is Reading this...Sea Otter is a go!!!! Warp speed Scottie, Book it dan-o, cause nobody F's with the Jesus!!!

Motivation

"Okay, I get the picture White Tigers, Lords of Death, guys in funny suits throwing plastic explosives while poison arrows fall from the sky and the pillars of heaven shake, huh? Sure, okay, I see Charlie Chan, Fu Manchu and a hundred howlin' monkey temples, and that's just for starters, right? Fine! I'm back! I'm ready, goddammit let me at 'em!"

d training

So while in PA I went down to a town i've wanted to see for a while, being a backroad guy fascinated by the un-usual....Centrilia PA. after a couple of hours driving i finally found it, however because of snow cover couldn't get to it. Must return in the summer. I did manage to snap a couple of images and then hiked around the back side of a hill to come across this smoke bellowing from the earth.

Note, bring a mask if you ever go, i didn't even go inside the town and had a headache from the fumes...check out this link. http://www.offroaders.com/album/centralia/centralia.htm

for those of you running threw detroit...enjoy the tunnel between terminal a and b/c. sometimes the music sucks - sometimes it will give you a heart attack - just keep it real in the 304 or 207 or whatever it is.

d train in the house

flying from NJ to Jersey Shore, PA to Sacremento, CA all in one week it's safe to say the training is gone to hell. Quickly.

i woke up in Sacremento with a pocket full of reciepts and no money in my pocket on Saturday morning. i believe i had dinner at PF Changs - because i had a reciept - assume it was good. I am debating this is a solid idea, the whole TRC thing or whatever...but i know i have overcome worse things, my first step at age 2 was one of my glorious acheivements, done with no training what-so-ever. but we are beyond that...far far beyond that. my bowels churn from airport food and constent change of airplane pressure. i have lost over 4 cans of shaving cream and 6 tubes of toothpaste to the TSA agents - what the hell does it matter if it's more then 3 oz's.

on a good note, i bought a used pair of Bose sound cancelling headphones from a customer, i did not know they where broken when i bought them and frankly was too tired to care to complain - he is after all a customer. while strolling down gate g12 at the MSP airport i asked the Bose store how i can fix them - the dude just said - "Why don't i give you a new pair for free." That is customer service. Paul Harvey would be proud...

diet: double fiber brownberry bread with chunky skippy peanut butter for breakfast...3 shots of kettle one for dinner. let the real training begin.

here ends my first entry.

More Snow

More damn snow coming.

Cory's out of the state. Not sure where but I do expect a drunk call this week sometime.

He has been known to record his experiences in random airports through out the world. Here is his latest

“Saga 3

It’s snowing a lot, I’m drinking double jack and cokes. Nuff said. Did
Anna Nicole die?

My plan, to give the third row a doe. I think I can pull it off without
getting blammedd, im really good, after all I am gold elite now.”

There was a little race last night through the “Sky Way” of good ol’ St Paul.

Here is a peek….

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSS3MkymRhs

Yeah people broke things

Check out this guy’s report… RichZilla of twin cities fame

  • Left index finger/knuckle broken and displaced about 6mm
  • Right collarbone broken and displaced about 25mm (1 inch) with a big overlapping 'tent' shape. They said it almost made it through the skin. Dang! Maybe next time.
  • Broken rib on my right backside, about halfway down and 4" out from the spine. Shallow breathing only!
  • Ultra-gnar bruise all the way to the bone on my right thigh from the handlebars, making it damn hard to hobble around.
  • Multiple rug burns and scrapes from whatever.
  • Short period of unconsciousness right after I hit the ground.
  • Wicked-good, old fashioned, got the wind knocked out of me.
  • Getting it all on tape with the onboard helmetcam rolling........Priceless!

Dude got it all on a helmet Cam… Damn

Oh and our new bibs for the race came...

Might need to go with the XL

Snow and F'in Google

Ok well I had a pretty long post already written but god damn google fucked it up.
Anyway, I posted something about the damn snow and how it was cool fallin but sucks to get around in.
Got to ride twice this year outside. Hopefully the shit will warm up around here. I've about had it with this weather. I need to move some place where it is warm in Feb.

Ok so I got an idea...Go to Sea Otter this year.
Here was the plan. It goes down from April 12 to the 15.
3 days 5 races...Sounds good to me

Day One: Friday morning 4 hour adventure race. Afternoon Short track race
Day Two: Sat. Morning Single Speed MT bike race, Road Circuit race in the afternoon
Day Three: 20 mile Mt Bike race.

The challenges...a total of 6 bikes and 2200 miles. Thoughts of UPS for the bikes but not sure of that. Plane with 6 bike would be $920 bucks. Driving would take 30+ hours.
Well hell if push comes to shove fuck the gears, we'll just bring the singles.

We shall see if this works out. I would have to ditch out on a final, a presentation and a paper so this damn school thing might just get one last cock punch on me and screw up another spring trip. Thank god I am done in May.

Training is not going so good. Riding inside sucks ass. Although I had a good ride at the gym tonight I've about had it with dance / techno music. At least if I go to hell I am pretty sure what it will be like. My ass strapped to shitty spin bike with dance music blaring and some fat ass yellin at me to get my ass back further over the seat.

What the hell are we doing?

What is the TRC you may ask. OK Simply put it's grinding back and forth over the Canadian Continental Divide off road on a bicycle. No Worries, I mean its Canada for Christ sake and with the exchange rate these days this should be no problem, right? Well once the math was done we came up with some 400 miles of dirt trails with over 35000 feet of climbing done in 7 days. Huh, we might need to train a bit for this one.
